Robin Zon
MD, FACP, FASCO
Dr. Zon chairs the South Bend Medical Foundation and is leading the CEO Search Committee. She is also on the Board of Governors for CancerLinQ and serves several roles in Women Who Conquer Cancer. Dr. Zon served as past medical director of Oncology Research at Memorial Hospital and NCI CCOP Associate and then as principal investigator until 2013 for the Northern Indiana Cancer Research Consortium. Dr. Zon volunteers as a leader for and is a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO); she has served as chair of the Government Relations Committee, chair of the Clinical Practice Committee, served on the Board of Directors from 2010 to 2013, served as chair of the Pathways Taskforce, chair of the Oncology Practice Conference, and co-chair of the Telemedicine Expert Panel, along with other ASCO related responsibilities including Fellow Mentorship. Dr. Zon is a past president of Michiana Hematology Oncology, where she is now Physician Emeritus, and she served on the Trinity Oncology Excellence Committee. Additional volunteer activities have included vice-chair of the Hoosier Cancer Research Group as well as past board member of RiverBend Cancer Services and the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Zon has received the ASCO Distinguished Achievement Award and ASCO's National Advocate of the Year Award and Advocacy President's Circle; she has been called upon by the Institute of Medicine, the National Cancer Institute, the National Academy of Sciences and MASCC to offer guidance and share her expertise. Dr Zon meets local federal government elected officials on a routine basis to promote cancer care policies, most recently regarding funding for NIH/NCI research and telemedicine. She has published over 80 articles. Dr. Zon earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, completed her residency at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Care Center in Indianapolis, and completed a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Indiana University Cancer Center under Dr. Lawrence Einhorn; she maintains an active certification in medical oncology.
